During my 2-week Malaysia trip, I decided to spend some well-deserved relaxation time in Langkawi. But after a few days, I wanted to explore a bit further from the beach in search of more adventurous activities. That’s when I stumbled upon Seven Wells Waterfall!
Also known as Telaga Tujuh, it’s one of the best and most accessible waterfalls in Langkawi. The waterfall is made up of seven natural pools cascading over Mount Mat Cincang and if you decide to hike to the top, you’ll be rewarded with a panoramic view over the valley and Langkawi Skycab!
This complete guide to Seven Wells Waterfall will show you how to get there, the best time to visit and what to expect.

Where is Seven Wells Waterfall?
The Seven Wells Waterfall is located in the western part of Langkawi, about 25 minutes from Cenang Beach or 45 minutes from Kuah Town.
If you’re already visiting the Langkawi Skycab and Skybridge, it’s just a 15-minute walk away. You can click here for the exact location of the waterfall.

How to get to Seven Wells Waterfalls?
Since there’s no public transportation in Langkawi, your only options are renting a motorbike, taking a Grab, or hiring a private taxi.
The roads are well paved, so it’s quite easy to ride a motorbike which should cost about RM 50 (US$ 11.50) per day.
If you don’t have a driver’s license, you can get a Grab taxi from any part of Langkawi. I took a Grab from Cenang Beach which cost about RM 22 (US$ 5.05).
The last option is to hire a private taxi and combine your visit to the waterfall with other nearby attractions such as the Langkawi Skybridge.

Once you get to the Seven Wells Waterfall, you will have to pay a small parking fee of RM 2 (US$ 0.45) for cars or RM 1 (US$ 0.23) for motorbikes.
Opening Times and Entrance Fee
The Seven Wells waterfall is open 24/7 and the entrance is free!
What to expect at Seven Wells Waterfall?
At the entrance, you’ll find a huge sign showing how to reach the waterfall. There are little shops where you can buy snacks and free toilets are also available.
Take the path towards the left that goes through the forest until you see a set of stairs. You’ll eventually reach the base of the Seven Wells Waterfall after about 10 minutes.
The waterfall drops from a height of approximately 90 meters over a large rock wall to finally meet into a small pool below. You may find some people cliff jumping but you should only attempt to do so after testing the water depth.

The waterfall was just a trickle when I visited in February but the pool still had enough water to swim in.
If you have some energy left and want to see the waterfall from above, you can walk back toward the entrance until you find another set of stairs.
There are nearly 600 steps to reach the top which should take about 30 to 40 minutes depending on how fit you are.
The upper section is made up of seven natural pools where you can swim in and relax. For your own safety, don’t go beyond the barrier near the edge of the waterfall as it’s very slippery.

You’ll also find a changing room and a small suspension bridge overlooking the mountains and Langkawi Skycab.
While I was walking around, I saw a group of people zip-lining across the waterfall and throughout the forest. It looked like such a cool activity and I would love to do this next time I’m in Langkawi!

Additional Tips
- The best time to visit is during the rainy season which is mainly between June and November.
- The hike to the base of the waterfall is not too strenuous and since the path is made of concrete steps, you don’t necessarily need hiking shoes.
- If you’re hungry, you can buy snacks and coconuts near the entrance.
- I recommend combining your visit with the Langkawi Skycab and Skybridge since they are just within walking distance of each other.
- Changing rooms and toilets are available for free.
