Things to do at Babadag Mountain Oludeniz
Paragliding
One of the most popular things to do in Oludeniz is paragliding thanks to its unique and stunning scenery. As the highest point in Oludeniz, Babadag Mountain is the official takeoff site for paragliders.
If you’re up to the challenge, you may choose to join the thousands of other paragliders who jump off the mountain every day.
Note that the paragliding season is from April to November and it’s highly recommended to book at least a few days to a week in advance, especially during peak season.

Watch the paragliders
My favorite thing to do at Babadag Mountain is watching the paragliders. The main take-off site is located at Station 1700 which also has a bridge from where you can safely observe the paragliders.
Have lunch with a view
Each station has a restaurant. The Grill & Wine Bar at Station 1700 is the most popular one right now and has a stunning view of the lagoon. It’s also a great spot to observe the paragliders.
Due to its popularity, it’s best to make a reservation if you’re visiting during the peak season or at sunset.
I personally didn’t eat at the restaurant but from reading reviews, most people were complaining about the high price which is expected at any tourist attraction of this kind. So if you’re on a budget, you may choose to have lunch somewhere else.
There’s also another restaurant at Station 1200 that serves Anatolian food.
Two other restaurants are at the upper levels – Burger House at Station 1800 and Tapas & Taco Bar at Station 1900. Neither is operational yet at the time of writing but both should open soon.

Soak in the view
Whichever station you choose to visit, you’ll be able to enjoy panoramic views of the rugged mountains and turquoise lagoon. There are several benches where you can just sit back and take in the view.
Ride the chairlift
Another fun thing to do is to ride the chairlift to Station 1800. Note that children under 7 aren’t allowed to use the chairlift and those between the ages of 8 and 12 need to be accompanied by an adult.
If you don’t want to ride the chairlift, you can walk up to 1800 m but note that the path is quite steep.
Watch a concert
The station at 1200 m has an open-air theater where you can watch concerts. You can find the updated concert schedule on the official website.
Duration of the Babadag Cable Car Ride
The Babadag cable car ride duration is about 16 minutes but may vary due to weather conditions. Riding the chairlift from Station 1700 to Station 1800 should take between 5 and 10 minutes.
Babadag Cable Car Opening Hours
While the attraction is open year round, you can only go up to 1200 m during winter and spring. Note that the upper levels aren’t accessible until the snow has melted. Also, the chairlift closes earlier than the cable car.
The table below shows the opening hours. You may also refer to the official website for the updated hours.

There’s also a children’s playground at Station 1200.
Things to know before visiting
- For the safety of the paragliders, drones aren’t allowed.
- The temperature at the top is cooler. If you’re visiting at sunset, make sure to bring a jacket as it gets quite cold even during the summer months.
- Tickets will be refunded in case of flight cancellations due to bad weather conditions.
- There are windows inside the cable car, so it doesn’t feel too hot inside.
- The chairlift closes earlier than the cable car.
- If you want to avoid the crowds, it’s best to visit early in the morning. The view looks even better during sunset but be prepared to share with hundreds of other tourists.
How long to spend at Babadag Mountain?
If you consider the time it’s going to take to buy tickets, ride the cable car, enjoy the view, and perhaps eat at the restaurant, you should plan to spend between 1 and 3 hours there.
I think that Babadag Cable Car is absolutely worth visiting and that you shouldn’t miss it during your next trip to Oludeniz and Fethiye. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below.
