Where to Stay in Ubud: Best Areas

Before deciding where to stay in Ubud, you should first do some research about the best areas to stay in Ubud.

Most people will probably want to stay very close (or at least within walking distance) to the main tourist attractions such as the Ubud Art Market, Monkey Forest, Campuhan Ridge Walk, etc. Staying in downtown Ubud also allows you to be close to a wide selection of restaurants and cafés.

Below are some of the best areas to stay in downtown Ubud:

  1. Ubud main road (also known as Jl Raya Ubud) – Lots of shopping, temples, museums and restaurants. Campuhan Ridge Walk is just around the corner.
  2. Around Monkey Forest – Lots of restaurants, cafés and boutiques. The Yoga Barn is also in this area.

On the other hand, those who seek peace and quiet with the iconic Bali rice field views might prefer to stay slightly outside of Ubud. These hotels are usually more high-end and include a free shuttle service to the town center.
