Pai Plong Beach is a secluded beach located in Ao Nang, Krabi. The path leading to the beach is known as the Monkey Trail and has some beautiful lookout points over the gold-sand beach and limestone cliffs.
Although the beach is maintained by Centara Ao Nang Beach Resort & Spa, non-hotel guests are still allowed to visit. Pai Plong is definitely one of the least crowded beaches in Krabi and a must on any Thailand itinerary if you’re looking for a private beach without having to splurge!

How to get to Pai Plong Beach?
To get to Pai Plong Beach, you can buy tickets at the Ao Nang Longtail Boat Service Club for 100 baht (US$ 3.30) one way. The boat is operational from 8 a.m to 6 p.m and takes less than 10 minutes to reach the beach.
If you’re on a budget, you can walk along the Monkey Trail for free. From Ao Nang main street, walk past the restaurants and beach bars until you reach the trailhead which is located at the end of Ao Nang Beach.

The Monkey Trail goes around the cliffs and provides a stunning view of the turquoise ocean. The wooden stairs leading to the beach are wobbly in some places, so you need to watch your steps.
If you’re lucky (or not!), you might even encounter some monkeys along the trail. I personally didn’t see any and I was happy about it! In total, the walk from Ao Nang main street should take about 30 minutes.
You can also get to the beach by walking along the shore from Ao Nang beach but this is only possible during low tide.

Pai Plong Beach Entrance Fee
There is no entrance fee to visit Pai Plong Beach. Once you reach the end of the Monkey Trail, you just need to sign in with the security guard of the Centara hotel and you’re free to enter. So, if you’re spending 4 days in Krabi, there’s absolutely no reason for you to not visit.
What to expect?
After the hike, you’ll be rewarded with a gold-sand beach surrounded by tall palm trees and limestone cliffs. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in Krabi!
Since Pai Plong Beach is part of the Centara Ao Nang Beach Resort, it’s much quieter compared to Ao Nang and Railay Beach. There’s almost no boat traffic and you’ll find plenty of shade to relax.
Luckily, the waves aren’t too rough, making it perfect for kids. If you’re looking for some adventurous activities, you can also rent kayaks from the hotel.
