How to get to Minissy Waterfall?
Update: Note that the hiking trail described in this blog post has now been fenced off. To get to Minissy, you have to start your hike at this spot and follow the directions in this Google review. I will be updating this blog post as soon as I go back there.
Below are some quick facts about the Cascade Minissy hike:
- Distance: About 950 meters (one way)
- Duration: 15-20 minutes (one way)
- Difficulty: Easy
The Minissy Waterfall hiking trail is easy to follow and starts at the PwC roundabout. Take the path between the sugarcane fields and walk straight ahead until you reach an intersection. You might also notice a rock painted in red. Turn left here and continue along the trail.
Turn right at the next intersection and after a while, you’ll reach a viewpoint overlooking a river and bagatelle dam in the distance.

From there, take the left and keep walking until you find a narrow path on your right (see photo below). Walk all the way down until you reach an intersection and then turn right.

The trail is quite flat until you reach another intersection where you’ll have to turn right again. You’ll know that you’re in the right direction when you start hearing the waterfall. You’ll also get a view of the waterfall immediately after turning right.
Just be extremely careful when going down as the last section of the trail is very muddy and slippery. There are also a lot of boulders here, so watch out where you step.

To get to Minissy waterfall, you just need to walk across the river. The river isn’t too deep but you’ll definitely have to get your feet wet.
Note: For your own safety, it’s not recommended to walk across when the river is flooded.
